About Crosslinkers

Mobile Site

Located in the state of Alabama, Evonik´s Mobile site is strategically located on the central Gulf coast of the United States, with prime access to key raw materials and transportation networks.

With large production facilities, covering an area of over 730 hectares (1800 acres) and a history that began in the  1970's, today Mobile is the largest site for Evonik in the North America region and one of the largest private employers in the Mobile area.

As a major part of the Mobile site, the Crosslinker business line first began operations in 1992 with the completion of plants to produce a range of isophorone derivative products. Major expansions completed in 1996 (VESTANAT®) and 1999 (VESTASOL®) led to the current setup of a fully back-integrated production network servicing major industries with products from our VESTAMIN®, VESTANAT®, VESTAGON® and VESTASOL® brands of raw materials and crosslinkers.

Jason Presnall, Crosslinkers TPM/Training Manager

Working at the Mobile site is like being a part of a huge family. The unit that you‘re assigned to is your immediate family, the rest are your aunts, uncles, and cousins. I have had the pleasure of working with many great mentors as well as making life-long friends. It‘s not just a job, it‘s a career. We rely on one another for support, like family, and hold one another accountable.

In my current position as Crosslinkers TPM/Training Manager I have the priviledge of being involved in all operating aspects of our six chemical plants. From the on-boarding of new employees, to the implementation of new systems, improvements to existing processes, and ESHQ. The TPM wheelhouse emcompasses them all making Evonik an even better place to work. Our motto at CX Mobile is that we want folks to leave for the day like they came in (or better), emphasizing workplace safety and personal resposnsibility.

Our site has recently added an Employee Activity Center which includes a cafetreria, conference/training rooms, and a gym. Since the EAC was built we have hosted operator classes, numerous trianing sessions, Open House community gatherings, and visitors from all over the globe. A lot of improvements have been made and many problems solved over a glass of sweet tea and a tasty lunch. Additonally, Mobile is the largest site in North America. Mobile Site has a sizeable infrastructure, with it‘s own rail system, it‘s own waterway for barges, and the site provides maintenance and utilities services for 27 on-site business units. Everything you need is only a phone call away in Mobile.

These are some of the many reason that I like calling the Mobile Site home.
